I paid in the neighborhood of $250 for my 200 amp. If you are going this route. Dont buy a overdrive pulley for the alt! The high amp units will come with its own overdrive pulley. so you would be wasting 30 bucks.

Honestly. If you are planning on or have elctric fans......get a high output unit. Yes your stocker may hold up for awhile. But it would only be a matter of time till it gave up.

Where'd you get the 200A alternator?
So what you're saying is if I decide to get e-fans and the ASP pullies, I should go with the 200A? Or is the 130A fine for these 2 mods?

I got it from Alterstart.com.

Do you have just fans? You will probably be OK, if, you get the overdrive pulley for the alt. Depends how many amps your fans pull. You need to figure that out first.

the 04 gm's have a available 145 alt. i may wait till i find one of those and give that a try, thats my only reason not having e-fans, i already have voltage trouble at idle..

I have just fans with the 130A and my idle voltage stays above 14 at idle w/ it all on. The 130A unit is fine for that. If you decide to do ASP's and the fans get the 200A...the 130A will be getting its *** kicked.

rgvsierra ... the GM 145A is probably going to cost you a good bit of cash to find. Unless you get a new take-off.

Sorry to drag this thread back but I'm not getting the answers to my ??'s I was looking for. I have a stock 130A alt from a Yukon and a yellow top Optima battery , I am in the process of installing LS1 fans, and wanting to get the ASP underdrive crank and overdrive alt pulleys, will everything be OK if I do this or will I have probems?? Oh, forgot to mention I have a small system in right now and with the truck stock (no e-fans) @ night with the truck @idle and my sytem cranked all the way I dont notice any light dimming, my voltage meter just dips very slightly. THANKS!!

I have ASP pullies and efans on both of my trucks with no problems. I did raise the idle to about 600rpms.
