I was wondering if I should bother getting both pulleys or just the crank pulley. I also saw where JET has a set of all 3 pulleys. Let me know what you guys are running and what I should expect performance wise from the pulley or pulleys. Thanks.

i think ASP is the only company that currently makes pulleys for our truck. I purchased both pulles but i am only using the crank pulley due toltage problems (not wanting to have any) i would say around 8 to 10 at the wheels. also, i can feel tq management since i did the pulley change.

is there any real difference in SOTP performance with the pulleys? doesn't seem like there would be with the very small gains they offer. but they might let the engine rev quicker to make power quicker or something....just curious

Everything can't be as it claims. I figure if I start with a 285hp 5.3, add 20 for intake, 25 for exhaust, 12 for pulley, 17 for fans, 15 for throttle body spacer, 22 for that vararam thingy, 15 for throttle body BBk, 30 for the HPPIII, 20 for headers, 35 for heads, 35 for cam, .....well that right there is 531 hp. I should be able to fly by the time thats all done....NOT! The good thing is that we can come to this forum and rely on the efforts of each other so we all don't have to get ripped off all the time. Once in awhile I guess you have to take one for the team. So where do you all stand on the pulley....or is it another potential $200 paperweight?? Thanks.

well, i can tell you, without the pulley on my truck, the best i could run was 15.5 in the heat and spinning off the line. Probably could have ran a 15.3 with cooler air and no spinning. with the pulley, my best is a 14.9 and the temp was in the 80's and i had traction. i think it is a well worth it mod. i can feel sotp performance when i hit it at around 30. also, i can feel tq management which i am working to get rid of now.

bad ****....the numbers you're listing for those mods are WAY high...and the 5.3 is 285 rwhp at the flywheel stock...they make like 240 at the wheels, exhaust isn't gonna net you 25 unless you go full longtubes with a complete exhaust system, fans don't net near 17rwhp either,hpp3 is worth maybe 10-15

The numbers I listed are the numbers that each manufacture CLAIMS...I know that what they claim and what you get are far from the same....thats what I was getting at. I guess its hard to sense the sarcasm that I had intended on putting into my last post. But are the pulleys worth it?

I run only the crank pulley and the way I could tell the difference was by leaving my transmission if 5th gear and checking my speedo on a designated hill after I reached the top, it was usually good for about 5 mph gain which is a definate sign of improvement. I used my ASP on my 4.8 and then switched it over to my LS1. I appreciate your sarcasm and would like to see manufactures post real world numbers on their products.

I noticed quite an improvement on my 5.3 Maybe didn't feel much faster but it did feel as if the motor spooled up faster. I am going to be putting on the 6.0 soon. Just waiting on Tbyrne to get me the overdrive for the alternator. Not going to mess with charging issues at idle again.
