Default ASM header Install

This may have been brought before but i didnt see it in the search. I would really just like to know any tips or advice on the install to make it a quick install, main question is with the steering shaft leave it hooked up or does it need to be disconnected? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated, oh and the truck is a 00' 5.3 ecsb Z71.

just installed mine yesterday, I really didnt find it that hard. Passenger side goes in from the top, drivers side comes up from the rear....word of advice, keep wrapping on them when installing them, i did and it saved them from being scratched up. You may need to put a smaller bolt in the steering shaft but you dont have to take it out

The only problem I ran into was I trimmed the starter selnoid heat sheild. It was hitting the header. Mine is a 99 I'm not sure if 00-04 are differant shields.
