Lightbulb Anything different on cam swap on 03 motors?

Just wondering if there was anything different on the 03 5.3s that I needed to be aware of when changing a cam and springs different from the instructions on ls1howto.com ? Looks pretty straightforward and I was gonna do it while I had everything off installing my LS1 fans, save some time!!!

TIA Ryan

I changed out the cam in my 03 2500HD with a 6.0L. I didn't notice anything different over my camaro.....

Why you taking all that stuff off to do your fans? Now if it's an excuse to to the cam, then game on!

I'm not taking al that stuff out to do the fans!!! CLARIFICATION: I'm in the process of doing my fans, a slow process since it is cold here so I'm in no hurry. Meanwhile, I'm WAITING on my cam and springs to arrive so I can go ahead and put them in before I mount my e-fans and get it all wired up. Just saves some steps and also me taking it back out later when I install my cam. Both mods were planned to be done at the same time all along, I just got the stuff for the fans quicker and have already started on them while waiting for the other stuff. It's all gonna go back together at the same time. Make more sense?

Anyway, I was only wondering if there was anything that I should be aware of while doing the cam before I got started, once I get my springs I will have eveything needed to get rolling!

Thansk for the input guys!

I'll be doing more than just the cam when I do it so my install won't be any good for you to get differences from. I plan on dropping a second or better provided I can hook up.

Well, i was just talking about the basics of taking things off the front and top end of the engine and putting things back, that's all I was wanting a comparison on!

Thanks!
