I have the same truck an 08 LTZ Vmax. After looking at the catback systems I just could not see spending what they were asking for something an exhaust shop could do for under half the price. I ended up using a flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber in place of the sock 55gal drum of an exhaust. I Had the tail pipe turned out in front of the rear wheel with a heavy walled stainless tip. I have no crackling or drone, sounds really deep and clean. In the past I have used the hooker, borla, etc and I am sure they flow much better but all of them were very raspy but this was on a F-Car.

I am really curious how the borla catback setup sounds. Reason I ask is, I just got home from the G12 Fbody Gathering in Atlanta. While I was there I won a door prize for 50% off from Borla products... So I may head in that direction since I will get a real nice discount.
**** 50% off go for the borla dude verry high quality! Awesome sound!
