Ok, well im searching for a CAI for my 2003 Silverado, and i like the idea behind the vararam, just havent heard alot of people using it, so i wanted to get some feedback on those who have it weather or not they think its any better than say the volant or similair aftermarket setup. I had my mind made up and was going to get the outlaw system, but since they went under thats no longer an option, so i waited to long i guess.
Ive narrowed it down to the volant with the scoop, or the vararam tri power ram air setup.
Other mods on the truck are 05+ efans, and i have some Pacesetter LT's/ORY that will be going on in the next couple weeks and then the CAI and a Nelson Tune.
Thanks for any and all feedback.

I bought the vr6 vararam for my 03 silverado.....boy i should of saved my time, luckily vararam bought it back and paid for shipping. I could feel a HUGE power LOSS, and mileage went down by 1mpg. The guys on here told me not to run the vararam products...I wish I would of listened! I would run the volant or the K&N CAI.But I personally feel that CAI's are almost a waste of money anymore a drop in filter and a little modification to your stock intake is plenty good for the average joe, unless you want the nice look of chrome under the hood. Bottom line: I believe that vararam products have a long way to go to catch up to everyone else. I think they need to do some R&D for the trucks. The vette's systems are good but the trucks need work!

I really think that most of the CAI systems are WAAYYYY overthought. Its just an intake. Most people dont put that much R&D into a cam.
Lets say that someone invents the PERFECT CAI. At most, what are you looking at? 10hp, if that?
Its an intake. Nothing more. There just isnt that much power to be had.
Cut the bottom out of your stock box and get on with life.
