Just finished my cam swap to a 216/220 .560 .560 lift 114lsa and it couldnt have went any better. Love the sound if it anyway... i had to use a LS2 cam sprocket GM part number#12586481 becuase the nnbs 5.3 use a single cam bolt setup. Will post pictures and sound clip soon.

Personally, I'd run a 212/218 with lift under .570" so i could use LS6 springs. You have that TT3000 as well so that'll be a mean little setup IMO

TR220 is a big cam for the 4.8 but needs a 3k stall atleast but it will work. A decent cam would be in the 212-218 or 220 range. Its all how much you want to play the tuning game and what your goals are. Also the 4.8 has a shorter stroke then the rest of the lsx engines.

see and here is where I get the most confused. Yeah yeah the 4.8 is a "small motor" yes, by litres and all but the only difference between a 5.3 is the crank?.. so Im still confused y people see it fatastic to cam the **** outta 5.3s but the 4.8s can only handle small cams? Im gonna put a 221 in and every person who has put a bigger cam in a 4.8 has had nothing but good to say. So now its ur call, cam the **** out of it for a cool sound and some power higher up, or do the smaller cam with a smaller idle, its ur call.

Well, I might be buying a new truck so I will be able to do whatever I want to the 2000.. This was my problem, I didnt want my truck to be down for to long.. Now that I am getting the new truck I will pull the 4.8 and put a 6.0 in its place.. Then I will start building the turbo kit.. The New Sierra will be left alone..
