another 6.0 question
I just bought a 6.0 out of a 2004 silverado and I am putting it in my 1990 ss truck. I have a few parts that I bought for it awhile ago. I have a 2800 stall, Shorty headers and a z06 cam. I am wondering if the z06 cam will give me much improvement if at all? I have 4.10 gears in the rear so bottom end it should have plenty. Any Idea on quarter times the truck weighs in at 4100 pounds with the 5.3 in it. Thanks in advance for your input.

yeah the 454 was gone when I bought the truck. I was glad. If you ever drove one they are gutless 225 hp and 10mpg if your lucky. I thought I would put on the corvette intake and covers to make the 6.0 look good. But it would be nice to have it running decent as well.

The 454 uses in those trucks was a dog, small ports, low compression and very restrictive throttlebody induction. In regular cab body they only could manage to run 15s in stock form.A stock 5.3 probably makes more power and is almost 200lbs lighter.
