ok heres the deal, i found a complete '03 (aluminum headed) six-o for cheap ($450) it is complete from intake, plugs and wires to pan, it has 36k miles on it and only needs one piston (90 for piston and rings and another 50 for the rod my price at the dealership i work at).
ok, now for what i want to put it in. My '89 Fullsize stepside. Herein lies the problem: no computer, no wiring harnes, no drive by wire. yeah yeah, bolt on an adapter intake for a four barrell you say (this is my last resort, however im on a pretty tight budget). what i need help on is what are the bare essentials electronics wise?
Are there Painless or other sorts of kits available?
Are there stand alone fuel injection computers available for '03 6.0's?
Is my best bet the carb adapter? and how much power would be lost?
all replies appreciated, good or bad. i can deal with criticism but your wasting your time if your telling me not to do it at all
