Guys, We can make 1-5/8" headers for the 4.8's if necessary. The 5.3's will work extremely well with 1-3/4" headers. We installed a set of 1-3/4" headers on a 4.8 recently and I must say, it ran really well. These engines flat out need and respond to headers regardless of engine size. I'll agree that the 4.8's will work fine with a 1-5/8" system but we've had some real good success with the 1-3/4" on these small displace ment engines.

What would you say about 1 7/8" primaries on a heads/cam 6 liter, with the occasional 125-150 shot of nitrous?

GMCtrk, I'd say . I'd run 1-7/8" headers on any heads/cam 6.0. On a nitrous application it's really a no brainer.

Just checking, there seems to be a lot of opposition to it here. I personally thought it was a no brainer as well.

I did not know you had heads and a cam with nitrous. I believe I would go 1 7/8. Didn't even think about Gateway. Have never been on a dragstrip, but it sounds interesting.

I've only been once, but it was an absolute blast (minus the 45 minute wait time). I was pretty dissapointed to be the only GM truck running.
