Question Air Intake Tube Question

Are all the Volant, K&N, and all other CAI kits coming with a different Air intake tube that goes fromt the throttle body to the MAF for the 05' & up trucks?
Reason I ask is because since the 05' & up trucks are now coming with E-fans, there is a lot more room between the fan and the air intake tube.
I currently have the one with the immediate 90* turn at the throttle body.
So are there better CAI kits being made that have a smoother, better flowing transition than the CAI kits that were made for the 99-04' trucks?

I have wondered the same thing for awhile now. There is a hell of a lot more room on the 05 and up trucks, just haven't seen any new designs to take advantage of the added space yet.

The 63 series K&N system shows better gains over the 77 series system.
The 77 system looks to have larger bends than the 63 series.
Though I don't like the idea of an aluminum tube over plastic. The aluminum tube will conduct more heat.

Actually, I found if you do a search through K&N's web-site the part#'s for their CAI kits are different for a 2004 and a 2005 Silverado.
So I assume they changed the tube due to the extra room.
Volant has not seem to have changed theirs as of yet. At least not from what their web-site shows.

K&N's 63 series Aircharger system nets more HP gains over the 77 series FPIK kit.
Just in case anyone wanted to know.
