ABS and Brake light
#11
There are 2 ground wires on the side of the frame near the front part of the drivers side door. These ground wires have seperate bolts holding them in place(I believe its a 15mm head). One ground wire is for the ABS module. If corrosion develops at this ground wire the ABS and brake light may illuminate intermediately or constantly. If corrosion develops at the other ground wire the truck may die while driving or not start at all.

The ABS light and the BRAKE light do not follow each other. If the ABS light is ON by itself, the ABS is not operational, but you still have EBD(electronic brake distribution aka proprtioning). If the BRAKE light is ON due to an brake related failure, the ABS light will also be on. In this situation, you have no ABS and no brake proprtioning. My advise is don't drive the car until it is fixed. Driving with no proprtioning or brake bias is dangerous.

Hey dude, at my garage, we replace alot of ABS Modules!! They go bad alot. The module is under your framerail and has the ABS Pump bolted to it. You may want to get them checked. If the module is bad, then you got no ABS, you just have "old school" brakes. But if the pump is bad, you got problems. Problems that cost $668.00 to fix.
