Default 99 sierra 5.3

new around here and have been reading alot on possible upgrades.
on a limited budget what would you recomend to do and in what order.
just put a k&n panel filter in and got my father's flowmaster catback duel side exit exhaust on. i know many of you aren't fans of superchips or plug&play things like that but don't know of many tunner shops in my area. on past trucks have had good luck with hypertech chips imo. not looking to go all out but want to have the power there when i need it. what do you all think next step is?

1999 gmc sierra (new style)
auto, 66000 miles 3.73 gears.

Default Tb bypass

I would go with the $5 throttle body bypass. Its easy to do and cheap. Then i would go with another muffler like hooker, magnaflow, or dynomax and remove the converters. But before you remove them, i would either get a custom tune to delete the rear sensors, or get caspers 02 sims.

Ill sell you my hypertech, I like it a lot and noticed a lot of performance with it but Im doin some more extensive mods that will require custom tuning so I need to sell it. I'll tell ya how to set it up to cuz I have done a lot of testing with it and my g-tech. Probly let ya have it for like $150 + shipping.

5$ for the t/b by pass? you dont have to spend any money. just re-route the hose from the right side of the t/b and put it to the engine end of the left. you dont have to cap off the t/b. done it on half a dozen vehicles here. the cats is a good idea. a good intake and exaust and you will find what you are looking for.

Mine wasn't free:

2 vac. caps $.80
2 1/4"hose clamps $1.00
1 hose connector $.50

20 minutes of my time priceless! (No more like, 20 minutes in the garage instead of watching TV, that's priceless )

hmmm why did you cap off the t/b? where it connects it goes straight through and does go into the internials of the t/b. that bypass is just to cool the air going to the t/b. correct me if iam wrong
