1.) Alternator Clip Part # 15306329 $14
2.) Terminal End for the PCM
3.) Wire
4.) Munchos chips
5.) Bud Bottles (try not to knock them off of the bench)
Oh yea, gotta get my hands on an 02 PCM that is compatible with my truck, and start playing with it. While Bryan at PCMforLess is trying to work out a custom PCM for me, maybe I can get my hands on some parts and do a little tweaking in the mean time
Anybody know of any decent junkyards in North Jersey?

J/k.But I think the stock alt is fine. I could'nt figure out how to take the stock alt apart to see if there was wires maybe missing. I got the back black cover off but that was it.
I would say start with the wire and clip and see if it works, than if needed upgrade to an 02-03 Alt.
I'm still running the 99 bcm. I might get a used 02 and flash it with the vin off my pcm. I don't think it would be of any benefit because my truck is a base model and I don't have any options.I'm not sure of what the 02 bcm would bring me.
I would break out the buds after you get the grey cover off the pcm, you need all of your coins to pry that ***** Fker off without breaking it.

Thanks for the great info! Can't wait to punch it and see something less than 7.9* of KR! (hopefully)

Looks like you can get the alt pig tail from painless wiring as well;
An option For those of you with greedy evil gm parts desks.

As far as upgrading to an 145 amp from a 105, the 145 pulley sits approx 3/8 taller than the 105. I have a UD crank pulley and left my belt (060-895) on with the 145 and no problems. I did however put the 1/2" longer (060-900) on to be on the safe side.
Jsut another note.
anyone else add the wire yet??

I hate to dig up a 7 year old thread but I feel the need to. Last weekend I had my stock 99 upgraded to the 02 operating system. Everything went well except for the flashing battery light. Got to reading and ran the wire from red 52 to cavity C of the new alternator connector I bought specifically for this. Spent an hour running the wire, layed the harness open, integrated it to the point you can't even tell I added the wire in. Cranked the truck up, the damn light was still on. Did some searching and came across this thread. After reading it over it sounds as though in some instances adding the wire alone isn't enough, could be an alternator hardware issue as well. So I admit I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but being the outside the box thinker that I am I pulled up my stock 99 tune and the current 02 O/S tune side by side and got to looking under the vehicle platform options section of the System menu. Wouldn't you know, stock 99 tune "Alternator F terminal NO" and the 02 O/S tune "Alternator F terminal YES". Again, not the brightest person ever but wouldn't it make much more sense to just switch that to NO and not even bother with running a wire that may or may not fix the light? I don't have EFI live myself, just the demo version to view my tune but this seems like it ought to fix the problem would it not?
