the only difference in the old and new 918's is the finishing process, they have the peened finish now, its still the same wire they were using. That is direct from a Comp Rep.

Just so you know. I went with the new comp 918's. Bad decision. Just broke a spring, valve dropped in and you can guess the rest. Only 10k on the spirings and I was just cruising down the highway at about 2500 rpm. Comps are **** in my book but maybe I'm biased because I need a new block piston, head and valves. Luckily the Arias piston held so at least its only one piston and no bearings or crank. Stay away from comps they suck.

Shitty man, I broke a PAC valvespring with less than 100 miles, luckily It just barely scuffed the top of the piston and that was it. I replaced them with the comp 918s and they are working smoothly for now.

That's still the ONLY PAC spring that I've heard of breaking...I would have replaced it with another PAC myself.

There should be a sticky that reads "Don't by Comp 918 Springs"...seems like it's not an issue of if they'll break but when...
