how do you get the ssr to bolt up to the other manny???

 

Big Tex did you build the idler pulley? If so did you make a pattern of it, and what year car water pump has the bolt on pulley. Do you have a pic of the alt. bracket. Thanks

 

he said "press" the water pulley off. a 98 f-body does have a bolt on pulley. Did you already get the fast intake?

 

FAST TB's are cable type they dont have a electronic one out yet. I like that SSR TB!

 

Yes I already have a intake and going to order a ssr t.b. I just want to have everything I need to install so my truck isn't down long.

 

The bracket is basically triangular, but its a little oblong to cover 3 bolts. You can tell the 3 bolt holes it uses to get secured to the alternator bracket. I don't have a template, sorry. I just sold the whole setup to redaddiction for use on his truck. Maybe he can take a picture of the alt pulley before it gets all bolted back on. I think the waterpump is a 97 vette.

 

I'll get lots of pics when I get the truck back but I'm going out of town in two weeks and not sure when it will be done.

 

How much does the fbody water pump have to be spaced to work? I was thinking I might have some made since I can't find any of the bolt on ones.

On that relocated idler pulley, how is the pulley attached to the bracket? Is it simply bolted thru or is the pulley assembly somehow welded to the bracket? Seems as though I see a little bit if a welding bead showing under the pulley so I was wondering.

PS - what thickness on that plate? 1/4" maybe 3/8"? Aluminum? Got to get home and look at this.

 

As for the water pump, if you get a mezz e-pump, the belt rides all the way on the edge, but secure on the pulley. This pump comes with the outlet pointing forward.
