Default 8 rib pulleys

Does any body know where I can get a 8 rib pulley set up for my 5.3? Having problems with my belt slipping. I thought I heard someone using them on here.

I don't know of anyone on here who runs them.

You're having slippage at 6psi? Or have you upped the boost? How do you know it's slipping?

I upped it to 9 psi. It would do it a little at wide open throttle with the 6psi to. I run a goodyear gatorback belt also. they seem to work the best.

What's the diameter of the 9 psi pulley? I looked at your cardomain site and the pulley in the pic looks pretty small.

You might want to call Reichard Racing to see if they make an Ultra grip pulley for your blower. That will reduce belt slip.

The one you saw in the picture is the 6psi one. The 9 psi measures 2.70"

Black Blown 02: I know you have an ATI, but do you have problems with your belt slipping? I've even tried some of that belt slip stuff in the can and that doesn't help either.

I have a Reichard Racing 3.6" pulley(11psi) and it doesn't slip at all.

I can imagine that powerdyne setup slipping because of the small pulley size. Theres not much surface area for the belt to grip.

What does it do? Does the boost flatline or fall off in the upper rpm's?

There is currently no production 8 rib setup
I looked at making one and it was going to be costly !!
i was going to shave the face of the crank pully and pin on an extension
then the fact of the matter is you need to replace the alt tensioner and a few other little mods need to be done
With the amount of money i was going to spend i decided on the turbo

Blackblown are you running 11 psi on a P1 or D1 set up? We have done a couple of 8 rib set ups on some corvettes here at the shop and we think we could put one on a truck too. If my 6 rib plan doesnt work out then I am goin to try the 8 rib.

It does kinda falls off at wide open throttle. You can just here the belt squeeling. I just put the 9 psi pulley on. Its definately worse than the 6 psi one for squeeling. I know they make 8 rib pulleys for the supercharger from powerdyne. I just need to make it work for the rest of the pulleys on the engine. I wonder if I could just weld some extra steel on the pulleys and have it machined for 8 ribs? Theres a machine shop here at my work that can do it. Do ya'll think it would hold up? It is a daily driver. Was thinking I could get an extra set from a junkyard to play with first.
