8.1 injector questions
#21
Big guy-thats cool I guess I just sensed a bit of whining and I am in a weird mood today. I wasn't accusing you of damaging the programmer, but after you had the probs with it I would never sell it again and I don't want to have to get reflashed like you did so it is junk now unless I wanted to send it in. Not blaming you for that, though. Sounds like I chimed in here on this without knowing all the details and I'm sorry for that.

I've had plain 8.1 and marine 8.1 injectors, and neither looked like the top injector. However, they did have the same color O-ring as the top one. The O-ring on the bottom injector looks like my take out 99 injector.

William Nelson. I can probably dig up contact ifo for him. Parish8 and XLR8 both have spoken with will before. I doubt that he will give ranwalk his money back, but it would be good to know where he got them etc...

Thanks to Drew for making this right.

According to Alldata, the oem part number is 17124531. Also, if this description is accurate, I read it to say there are 4 holes.
This is from Alldata:
"The Multec 2 fuel injector assembly is a solenoid operated device, controlled by the PCM, that meters pressurized fuel to a single engine cylinder. The PCM energizes the high-impedance (12.2 ohms ) injector solenoid (1) to open a normally closed ball valve (2). This allows fuel to flow into the top of the injector, past the ball valve, and through a director plate (3) at the injector outlet. The director plate has four machined holes that control the fuel flow, generating a spray of finely atomized fuel at the injector tip. Fuel from the injector tip is directed at the intake valve, causing it to become further atomized and vaporized before entering the combustion chamber. An injector stuck partly open can cause a loss of pressure after engine shutdown. Consequently, long cranking times would be noticed on some engines."
So I would figure ALL Delphi Multec 2 injectors are of the same description. Get them flow tested if you can.
