Default 6L H.O. and trans

Ok guys heres the deal,
I've been contemplating a 6Liter swap for my 2001 EC silverado with a 4.8. I would love to actually have torqe for a change. My concern is the effect on the rest of the drive train. I know the 4l60E's are very poo-tastic, but would they hold up for a little while hooked to a 6l, if so how long? If i do the swap i want to eventually get a stronger tranny to back up the power, what are my options for a replacement of the 4l60E. Once the swap is complete i would like to start setting money aside for a whipple. I want a trans that would hold up to a 6l with a whipple and still be very reliable for daily driven uses.

thanks guys for any input.

The 4L60 should be fine with the 6.0 for quite a while.....until you put on the whipple

You will need to get it built right or be the one to swap the 4L80 in there. I'm sure it can be done with some $$$ and engineering, I just don't know of anybody doing it yet.
