It will be easier for you to identify the differences between what you have and what you are installing if the motor is in front of you. personally, 6.0s go for about $1k, 5.3s go for aabout $250. there are some pretty strong running 5.3s out there, plus it leaves a bit more money for mods (cam, P&P heads, etc...)
any info on where i can get a 5.3 for that price?

If you go with LS1 fans, you'll need the fans, a fan harness (you can make this yourself or buy one pre-made from some of our sponsors, I have the Nelson harness and it fits and works great), some home made brackets for the fans (metal strips basically), and PCM tuning to turn the fans on and off at the pre-determined temperatures. For 05 fans, you'll need all of the above, plus a 34" radiator.

I *think* that it's as easy as removing the 05 fans, getting a clutch fan and fan shroud (for a 34" radiator), and bolting them in. Might have to tweak something in the PCM since the fans will no longer be plugged in...not sure if the PCM monitors that or not.
