Default 6.0 Pushrod Talk!

Hey guys I need to know if stock pushrods will be ok for my application. I have a 6.0 with a XR275HR Comp cam and 26918 Comp springs. I'm running stock heads with a 3 angle valve job and milled .40.

If I need pushrods what length?

Thanks,
Rob

How high will you be revving your engine? I would get them if you were to shift above 6200 rpm. Just a little insurance policy and they don't really cost much.

I think 6600 or 6800 not sure. I really need to know then if the stock length will work since I milled the heads 40.

From what i have read you will need a shorter pushrod if the heads are milled. But im building my engine right now and getting the block decked 030 and my builder told me we might not need new pushrods but where going to check. So what i would do is put a stock pushrod in and check to see if it is the proper length, if it is then order some stock length ones that are hardened, If not then get a pushrod measuring tool and find the size you need and order them.

only way to be shore is to by a pushrod length checker, they are cheap and worth the money, I'll milled my heads .050 and am using stock length rods on a 5.3, was using .050 shorter and the valvetrain was super noisy so went back to stock length and havent had a problem, if i did it over again i would invest in a checker

I wouldnt buy them intill I measured.... you might not need them on a hydrolic setup.. Id guess a 7.35 but that is a guess.. Im probably wrong

7.4" is stock on a LS1 3rd Gen. BTW

Get a Comp length checker. Its cheap. Or find a cylinder head guy good at math!
