Question 6.0 Heads on a 5.3???

Hey you professionals......clear something up for me. I got this guy, that wants to sell me 2 6.0 heads (already checked the casting for authinticity).....and my Technician buddies all say "put them 6.0 heads on your 5.3 for added performance"..........I don't think personally they'd make that big of a diffrence.

So can you PRO's tell me the benefits, or detriments of using them on a 5.3?

What mods do you allready have?

If you are running a forced induction setup like a turbo or supercharger they will lower your compression ratio and allow you to turn up the boost they also flow better that 5.3 heads do. The only problem is that if you are N/A they will drop your compression to low and it will actually hurt you instead of help you.

Then do not use the 317 6.0 heads. The chambers are way too big. Compression will drop too much.

Like he said. Not for a N/A motor. They would love to have some boost on that 5.3.

I too have been thinking about 317 heads on my 5.3 w/Radix in order to increase the air flow. I'm thinking I'd want to grind some off the heads to raise their cr and not have to spin the Radix too fast in order to have good cr. What do you think?

Yeah i have been thinkin about the 6.0's instead of like a set of AFR's. Cheaper and I heard they flow really good. Help the ol Procharger breath lil better....
