I bought a shortblock with most of that stuff removed. Rod bolts are not reusable.

I used the 8.1 31# injectors for my tbss intake. I'm pretty sure the marines will work, the tbss injectors and truck injectors are almost the same length.

Which fuel rail did you use? Spacers or no?

I used the tbss rails that came with the intake. Didn't need any spacers just swapped injectors.

Your '04 truck is returnless already, correct?

I got the cam today and called Comp Cams to find out the details. It has XER lobes, and is 220/224 .581/.581. It has 112 LSA with no advance ground into it. The numbers on the cam are LS13720R/3722R HR112 H9397-06 Any concerns with the aggressive XE-R lobes?

After much debate, I finally ordered a set of ARP2000 rod bolts. My build should be fine with stock rod bolts, even reused. But I decided to upgrade anyway. I did it only for peace of mind, not necessity. I'm going to take the bolts to the machine shop, and they will bolt the rods together and check for size. That way I know I'm good to go.

Much thanks to John at Texas Speed. All my parts are now ordered. He's been very helpful on the forum and was equally so on the phone. Thanks John!

I talked to the machine shop today. The cylinder is honed and was in the washer. I should have my stuff back later this week.

The XER lobes are awesome and have been proven to make good power, just be sure to get a good spring...I recommend the PAC 1218's, which have the same specs as the Comp 918's only without a history of breakages. I plan to use these springs when I build my LQ9.

I'm surprised that they didn't grind any advance into that cam, like 2* or 4*...I'm sure that it will still pull like a monster though, I really like those specs...very similar to the TrickFlow cam that I was looking at (which is ground by Comp: 220/224 .575/.575 112...not sure about the advance).

I'll definitely be watching your build, as I'm still on the fence about my cam choice...I'm stuck between the 220/224 that I mentioned above, and a Comp 224/230 .581/.588 114. I bet that your cam will be excellent both on the street and the track

*EDIT* Charge up your camera brother, looking forward to a bunch of pics!
