That cam will probably like 6600 or so. Im shifting my gt2-3 cammed LQ4 at 6400 power levels off at about 6200 but I want it to fall down higher in the rpm range once shifted into second so it doesnt bog so much. I expect to extended that a little higher(100-200rpm) once I throw some longtubes and an ORY on.

I don't want to go to 6600. Call me a sissy if you must, lol. 6,300 even makes me queasy, lol. I'm still stuck in the old SBC world.

Spin it on up sissy

In the end do what makes you feel comfortable but most everyone with a decent sized cam in a 6.0 is shifting from the mid 6000s on up. My old 180K mile 5.3 with a 222/224 hit the rev limiter a few times at 7200 and shifter out at 6800 if I remember right(its been a few years). With your attention to detail Im sure the shortblock is put together right, go out and have fun with it. These things love the rpm.

I just got my catch can. I don't think it will work as is. It has both fittings right at the top. Neither one extends into the can, and there's no media for the air to pass through. I wonder if I could drill out the bottom and tap for a larger plug, and stuff it full of the stainless mesh guys are using. I'd then put an in-line filter after the can. Watcha think?

If you can get a mess up to the top it will work jsut fine,, but getting it in there even and level will be a PITA

Ive got an AMW on mine and its just filled with stainless slag from a lathe machine it looks like. You need to make sure the vacuum fitting is high enough up that it allows the bottom of the can to have some capacity otherwise youre just going to be sucking oil through the can.

None. LSA is 112 as well as the ICL. I debated installing it advanced, and Pat G advised against it. My DCR would have been getting too high.

I made great progress this evening. I started out by draining the radiator and then flushing the cooling system real well. Once that was done, I pulled it into the garage and started removing the top of the motor. About all I have left to do it remove the engine mount bolts and seperate the trans. I have a lot of stuff hanging on the new engine just to keep things organized. Most of it will come off when I go to drop it in.

Getting started.

Here's how it sets now.

Parts hanging on the new engine.

I've adapted the original evap solenoid already.
