6.0 Buildup - Your advice wanted.
#242
OK guys. Help me out with some answers here. I'm going to number the topics, and you can reply to that number.
1. Did a 2004 6.0 have a PCV? If so, how was it plumbed? Perhaps I'll just install my 5.3 valve covers on this engine.
2. How do I retain the MAP sensor? It doesn't snap in like it did on my 5.3, yet it shows the same MAP for both year trucks.
3. Where do I connect the line coming off the front of the passenger's side valve cover? Can I just cap it off? Seems like running it to the intake would defeat the purpose of a catch can.
4. What do I need to do for my air intake plumbing? The one from my 5.3 is way too small for this 90mm throttle body. Can I use a NBSS intake setup?
5. Where do I connect the chains to lift these engines?

1. The later models had just a nipple with an orifice no actual valve. you hook it up the same as any other pcv system.
3. the passenger side goes to the intake tube before the TB.
5. I connected mine from the back of one head to the front of another and ran the chain across the top of the intake.

1. I'll just swap back to the original valve cover then. I want to keep it as original as possible, for serviceability ease.
3. Doesn't that defeat the purpost of a catch can?
5. So lifting by the heads is the acceptable method? No risk with head gaskets?
