Default 6.0 build questions

I've never posted but this topic isn't a new one. I've got a 6.0 being bored .030 over. I'm wondering what would be a good cam choice for it, it'll be a daily driving truck. I want to be able to climb hills without downshifting. I'm running a 4.8 currently is why I say that but I have a comp cam xr265hr in it and perhaps this cam would be sufficient in my new 6.0. Also would the 6.0 bolt up to my torque converter in my 4l60E?

I have a set of 317's that came with the short block when I bought it and a set of 862's that I picked up last year. I plan on doing a little "work" to the heads, nothing fancy. The converter is stock.

So not touching the heads and running 78 or 90 mm intake?

You don't even want to run a trailblazer converter?

I plan on buying a rotary tool and some bits to clean the heads and take some material here and there, only what I have seen on hot rod threads that the pro's do. I'm not going to go in there like Indiana jones with it because I'd like to not have to replace a head. As far as the torque converter goes I've heard of using a trail blazer converter once before but that's it. I'm on this forum to learn what I can do any advice/knowledge is appreciated!

If you don't know how to port I suggest leaving the heads be. Your current cam would work fine, it won't be anything crazy on topend but better than a stock cam.

Thanks 03sierraslt. This is the link of porting the 317 heads

I was also looking for tips from guys who have done the 6.0 swap. I plan on doing this by the end of the 2017. I'll also be beefing up the 60E to handle the added power

I only ever recommend running a trailblazer stall to people who are set on running the stocker. The stock stall speed is so damn low, like 1900 rpm. You pick up so much more performance from a higher stall speed converter alone.

I wouldnt worry about porting the 317s. I'd put the 4.8 top end on the 370. Something in the 224 range at .050 duration cam. Pretty tame imo for a 370. But I'm not sure how much low end you're prepared to give up. There's the btr stage 1 cam. But I'm not sure exactly what you're after.
