Default 6.0 blocks 99-01 vs 02 and newer

Has anyone put an older 99-01 engine in a newer 02 and up truck with a 4L60e?

I've alread had all of the machine work done to the block, and had the crank polished and magged, but now I'm finding out that I might have to worry about the crank being too long at the rear of the block. There's posts saying that the 99-01 crank is almost 3/8 inch longer. Can I use the older 99-01 fly wheel and get around this?

Has anyone delt with this before? I don't know if the newer crank will work in the older block.

PM litredevil, in my other thread he said something about making a spacer or something. otherwise you need a different crank from what I understand.

FWIW, people are saying that the 2001's WILL fit with the 60e's. not the 99-00

the cranks used in the older engines are longer and will not work with a 4l60e, i am using an older motor and it works great but i did a 4l80e swap at the same time.

not being a as$ but yes it can be done and yes it has been done you have to space the trans away from the motor about 1/4 to 3/8 in and put a stock 5.3 flywheel and it will work but the crank in the pic is a new style it looks likie the end shank is not all that long.
