Default 6.0/80e Swap Questions

Ive been searching for quite a while and can't quite find the answers I've been looking for...

I'm planning ahead here, but within the next several months I plan on putting a 6.0/80 in my 01. My question is if I get a complete pullout with engine and trans wiring harness in tact, will it be a simple as plugging the harnesses into the fuse box?

Ive found many threads that detail modifying stock harnesses, but I'd like to make it as plug and play as possible..especially simce all the harnesses will still be completely installed.

Thanks

I don't see why you couldn't do that. It would in my opinion be harder to swap harnesses than just modify the original. It isn't that hard. You will still need to modify the crossmember, driveshaft, and would heed a tune with the stock PCM.

I ask because if the harnesses are already on the engine and trans I don't see the need to remove and swap them, and then modify them.

And thanks for letting me know about the other stuff. I've searched and read alot on here, so I feel like I have a decent idea of what all is involved.

i would pull the transmission side of the harness and put it on top of the engine that way IF it hits the firewall it wont pinch anything. assuming youll go in with it assembled.
its not hard to pull the harness. go read the thread in my sig ive already pulled and modified my engine harness.

AJ you needa get off your butt an come out to BR after its done!

Yeah, I'm going to go in with the engine and trans assembled..or thats the plan anyway. Lol

I should just buy all the stuff and drop it off with you. Wiring and electrical stuff is most definately not my forte.
