When people have something Dyno'd they don't use the term "about"... So what your trying to convince us is those cheap Chinese heads are going to bolt on more performance they CNC GM castings?

Kid you have a lot to learn...

Th8s is awesome. Lol. First time on here in konths and this is first thread I read...right after I caught up on project man van...anway I had a hard time following exactly what was bought. Got the cam and heads. Did u buy the shorty headers that everyone told u not to? Also have you made plans to get the truck tuned? Probably would have been better off getting work done on your stock heads for now instead of the ebay ones and what are you dremel tooling on or tb? Please post a list of what exactly youve bought so far. And if by some miracle and luck you get close to the 400 mark with this setup if you havent payed any attention to your tranny I can guess what your next thread will be. But before I offer any advice id like to know exactly what youre working with right now

Unless your dad's friend is building a turbo kit out of scrap pieces of stuff lying around, there is no way that he's getting 400 RWHP out of a 5.3 in a truck for $1000. Unless he's dropping a 150 shot of nitrous on one, but that can be done for less than $1000.
would ls6 heads work on a 5.3? what about not really goin for that much power but would ls3 heads and that cam work on a 5.3?

go to LS1tech.com and search the Generation III Internal Engine section. This topic is well documented.

LS6 heads are an upgrade for a 5.3 (although some 5.3's came with 799 heads which are the same thing as 243)

LS3 heads will not fit on the small-bore 5.3 engine.

Default 2000 5.3 vortec motor

I’ve got a highmileage (332xxx) never been rebuilt Chevy Silverado z71 4x4. Grandfather bought it with 80xxx miles back in 04. It’s been passed down and it’s a tradition in my family to build our first vehicle. It’s getting painted right now, and it’s going to cost 5 grand for me to get it painted. I would like to add more horsepower, maybe around 350ish. Since stock only has 285 horses. other than rebuilding the motor and transmission what would be good for it. Other than cold air intake and hotter ignition which will be done. I’ve even got a tuner for it if that helps

Not this thread again........

Also, I think he was trolling us. No pictures, no proof, insane numbers, no knowledge.

Grayson, Is there a reason there bud you didn't post your own thread.
No idea what you mean by hotter ignition, but that is not going to do anything for you. Best to make your own thread to get better answers.
