I had a ticking noise once and couldn't figure out where it was coming from took it to the dealership 3x when it was under warranty and they couldn't find the problem com to find out it was a loose spark plug...

My 2005 Tahoe did this and also developed cold start blue smoke. I'm old school and started using slick 50. Solved both issues. Keep oil level full and clean and add Slick 50 each time.
