very true i dont need all the extras. but the price is the same with or without all of it..... So if i can find a 6.0 L complete can i just gett the computer from it an use that? i also heard you need to change the dash cluster if you do a 6.0 swap?

No need to touch the dash cluster. All you need is your computer reprogrammed for the new engine, which could be easily done through the mail by one of the sponsors here (Black Bear, Wheatley, Nelson...).

I know im being a pain in the butt! So, i can use a 2005-2006 5.3l motor as long as it has the same 8th vin#? I just want to make sure it will work i have a guy who has a 2005 van and it has 11k on it an will sell the motor to me real cheap. and the vin show it will fit a Tor 8 an i know mines a T. like i said just want to make sure

It will work, but if it has the drive-by-wire throttle body, you will need to swap TBs, and either use your 5.3 intake manifold, or change a couple things on the newer intake manifold.

Any pre-07 4.8/5.3/6.0 will work in your truck (except for the 99-00 LQ4s with iron heads).

If it's a 5.3, 4.8, or 6.0 (with aluminum heads) you can drop it in and use it as long as you get your pcm tuned for it or buy the engine with the PCM already with it.

Ok one more question i CAN use a 05-07 motor as long as i just use my intake, throttle body and what not? do i have to worry about the relugter thing? or just make sure the 8th vin is the same an use my top half...? Sorry new at this whole 5.3l thing
