Default 5.3L engine problems

Ok, here is the deal. I just got back from taking my truck down the road. I got on it and it went fine through first. then in second around 4500RPM's it sputtered once or twice. Was not sure what was going on. It was like it was rev'ed and then missed a couple of times. Any help would help. Thanks!!!

Bad gas, fouled plugs, clogged air filter, plugged fuel filter, bad fuel pressure regulator, it could be any of a thousand things....can you give us a little more info on the truck ??

ok, i floored it and it went through first fine then it went to second gear, rev'ed to about 4500 rpm. and it was like the engine bogged down a couple of times. then i let out of it. it only does it at high rpm's. i think it is time for a tune up. I also went to advance auto because my service engine light came on. they said that it was either a bad O2 sensor or the EGR valve that was causeing the light.

Block off the EGR valve and put new O2s in it. What you are describing as far as how its actin really sounds like my truck when I was having random misfire problems. Miles since you last changed the fuel fliter? Have you looked at the plugs? Check the plug wires make sure one isnt craked or melted to a header primarie. How many miles are on your truck?

really need to know the specifics of the truck before we can diagnose the problem.

Year
Engine
Auto/5sp

etc, etc.

he pm ed me and said he was running 87 octane and i think that's why he probably set a lean o2 code reading, i suggested not even thinking about getting in to full boost till he ran all that 87 out and got some good 93 in there and also putting in some ngk tr6 plugs.also i see he didnt mention he's running an STS turbo.

Well its obvious his computer is doing some wierd **** and I wasnt specifically referencing his WOT situation but the codes that were showing up in his computer those need to be taken care of too not just whatever is causing his problem at WOT. Leanlow its obvious you need to fill us in on everything that you ahve done to the truck in order for anyone to be able to tell you what "might" be the problem.
