Default LS7 Springs?

OK, we have a few guys doing some research to find out if the LS7 exhaust rocker, which has a 1.8 ratio, will work on our engines (4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 etc.). There's a thread about it here: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=356657

4.8T came up with a good question in that thread, what about the LS7 springs? He mentioned that they're supposed to be good up to .600 lift...will they work in our engines as a budget spring upgrade? Are they the same height, diameter, etc?

It's nice to be able to do performance upgrades using factory parts and saving a few bucks in the process

i was reading my hotrod or something mag i forget which one but they put in a cam in the ls7 that was running like 620 or more lift something crazy and they used stock springs but use diffrent retainer i think it said to allow the spring to expand a little more and that was all it needed. i'll reread and see exact numbers.

a few guys replied and they confirmed what i read it was like .630 lift and they had different retainers to do it. but the stock cam is at like .591.

Any info on the seat pressure of these springs? Sounds like they'll work with special retainers...

Just be careful, a few have failed on the Z06 and motors have had to be replaced. Not sure what the problem was, but you may want to check the LS7 section of LS1tech.com before buying.
