Can I make my 5.3L into a 408 stroker?

I believe the walls will be too thin. A forged 370 would be a nice option for your 5.3.

How do you make a forged 370 out of a 5.3? I am asking, because I am interestred in this build for myself.

3.905 bore and a 3.9" stroke is a 374

Just make a 383 out of the 5.3 but for the money i dont think its worth it

The most i can do with my 5.3 is a 383? how much will i gain with a 383?
I heard i could do a 402 and 408 with mine

you need a 6.0 block to go that large

You will gain a lot with a 383, that's 58 more cubic inches. Start doing some shopping now; as niff said, it may not be worth it to bore and stroke your current block because you might be better off just buying and swapping in a bigger engine under your current setup. Like a 408 longblock, for instance

Where can I buy a block that will work with my setup without doing custom work to make it fit... just a straight swap and all my stuff from my 5.3 will bolt right up

any 6.0 block should work if im not mistaken...
