Default 5.3 rst ecsb

I have an 05 sierra RST that just turned 54k and still runs strong but I have the urge/need for some more power. I'm scrapping the G80 and going with a trutrack also beefing up the trans. What cam/converter combo should I go with to get the most power and still remain drivable? Its not my daily and have never really hauled with it. any input would be awesome! thank you in advance

I am interesting in the G80 if your selling it for a decent price.

what are your overall goals for the truck? The TR224 or the texas-speed 224 are both really good cams. Pair it with a Circle-D 278 3000 stall converter.

I've actually just started running it at our local 1/8th mile track. Best time was a 9.94 @73 (with some traction issues) the truck is basically stock from regency with no tune. I'd like to break the 8's in the 1/8th. I don't know how attainable that goal is. The TSP 224 seems to be the most popular combo plus tons of good feed back. What am I looking at HP wise with the 224 TSP kit and the circle D with a good tune?

around 350 with the supporting mods such as intake and exhaust.
I ran a 8.8@ 78 last week with the mods in my sig and I weigh quite a bit more than you.

Im with these guys Corey, 224 should be about perfect for the 1/8 and cruising around. 220 would be good if you were driving it more and the 228 would be ok if you were using it ONLY for the strip.

Circle D converter for sure, 2800-3000 should be great.

you better jump to the 9.5 inch stalls from circle D
That 278mm will not do good with a tr224 cam in a xcab..too tight wont flash and get up in power soon enough.
Power didnt really come in hard till 3600rpms with my 220 cam and tt3000 stall...That combo sucked!
Honestly thats too much cam for a 1/8 mile setup unless you run a 3600 9.5 inch stall with 410s.

I would run a smaller cam with plenty bottomend torque
