another tuning option is Wester's, makes a big difference (awesome options if you ever change tow vehicles, full credit towards a computer for the new vehicle). If you really want to help the towing capacity I would stick to the long tubes. a little more money but they'll give you more benefits then shorties
By the way, sweet car

- long tubes (don't waste $$$ on shorties)
- NO torque convertor (not sure why some are saying to get one. it will hinder towing performance rather than improve it)
- cam
- tune (custom, HPP3, predator, or whatever you can afford, as long as you get some sort of tune. i would recommend custom tune 1st though)

Well I found the Long Tubes that I am getting but my next question is does GM make a hot cam kit for this car?? With my TA I just bought a complete LT4 Hot cam hit and it had everything, cam, rockers, springs, retainers the works. Oh yea here is another dumb question, this is a roller motor right?? ITs not like my TA that takes a special cam, any SBC roller camshaft will work won't it??

Depending on the year of your ta, they are the same designs internally. Same cam design if its the 98 and up ta's I think. For your truck though you need to look at ls1 cam and springs if you go over .500 lift. Just pay attention to the boards for more info on cam selection.
As far as the converter, I would think it would help as it would keep it in the rpm needed for towing most of the time. Maybe not the tt3k, but maybe the tt2600 would be a nice choice instead. Just my .02
