Default Headers the best mod yet...

Finally got some dragstrip times today to see how much the AS&M headers helped. The air was not as good as when I did the cam change and traction was not good at the track today. Had to feather the throttle past the 60' mark. Also I'm still running out of injector size. My new 42lbr's should be in next week. It went 13.31@101.99 w/1.93 60', 8.46@82.64 in the 1/8. And this is still on the factory radials. So the headers were worth .3 tenths and 3 mph + .07 hundredths off the 60' time under less than ideal conditions. Now I have a goal in mind...12.90's n/a!

You ran out of injector N/A? What size are the stock injectors?

Keep in mind if you did the headers after the cam then it is really not a fiar comparision. ANYTIME you do a decent sized cam you need headers. On an F-body you'd be lucky to gain 15-20rwhp but if you do a cam first THEN headers you gain about 40rwhp from the header swap. LOL

Man, thats great. 101+ mph N/A is very nice.

Stock injectors are roughly 24 pounders. I've been out of injector for a while, but haven't changed mine either. I just pulled back the shift points some to nurse it along until I change them.

I agree that headers enhance the performance of the cam.

Running stock y-pipe with cats gutted, 3" mandrel bent head pipe into custom y-pipe, 2 Dynomax UltraFlow mufflers and then rear exit using 2-1/2" mandrel bent piping.

I'm pleased with the mph, tells me I'm getting near 375rwhp.
