It looks like the l33 had a higher lift camshaft and a compression ratio of 9.9:1 vs 9.5:1 on the iron 5.3s.

The 5.3 with the 799 heads have the same flat top pistons as the 4.8. That is why the compression bump.

you defanitly need to free up that exhaust, that's a big cam for that truck and a stock converter. in my old L33 with a TSP220 I had a 3200 and wish it had a 3600.
tires rob a lot of power, ask me how I know. lol

With 4.11 gears the tires would rob that much power you think? To dyno at 270? How was the streetability of your 3200 stall converter?

I have 5.38 gears and 36"s, rotating mass eats up a lot of power.
with the 3200 you could barely tell I had a stall until I went WOT. towed with it and DD the truck with no problems. just get a good cooler

If you're keeping the 33's, I'd recommend 4.56 gears.
