270 rwhp is definitely low. Mine with a bullet and cold air dynoed 256 rwhp. I have the 228r and stg 2.5 PRC heads, full exhaust, bolts ons and a stock converter. Definitely not much down low, but around 3500 and up it feels really good. I shift at 6500, with the rev limiter at 6800. I'm running 22x10 wheels. I would be willing to bet I put down 360-370 rwhp the way it feels, but that's just a guess. GL

How's the truck feel on the street? Any street races with that setup or better yet track times? In my eyes there is a lot of improvement that could be had in your combination.

BTW if you want a stall I am selling my FTI Street Brawler 3200 coming out of my truck. Going with a tighter stall for the nitrous kit I have to put on the truck.

Our 304 stainless steel long tube headers and y-pipe are currently on sale along with AirAid intakes. Give me a call or shoot me a PM and I will get you fixed up!

I would definitely recommend a 3000 stall as well with that cam. I bet you are experiencing a BIG dead spot down low. I can get you into a TSP by Yank or Circle D for $400.

I really doesn't do do bad. It's not the 350 rwhp i was hoping for. Maybe after she gets to breathing right it'll be a different story. I'm going to try 241 heads as well for better flow. How much you looking to get out of the stall converter? My tranny is fine right now but if it's the right price we might make a deal.

I wouldn't bother with the 241 heads, the loss of compression will be a killer.

Aren't the 706 are supposed to have 9.5:1 CR and the 241's are a 10.1:1?

Compression ratio is determined by combustion chamber and cylinder bore size not by cylinder heads alone. 241's are 10:1 on an ls1 motor but not on your smaller bore 5.3 without milling them.

Ahh nice save! Did they change the piston design for the newer 5.3 when they gave it the 799 heads to have the same CR as the old ones? Well looks like cold air intake and headers for now. Hopefully 350-360rwhp afterwards. Will post after it's done!
