Default Assembly lube

Does it matter the brand assembly lube? I am swapping cams and bought some from the local Oreilly's. Would that be fine? Also I read that if the engine has been ran the lifters do not need to be soaked in oil. Thanks for help.

Are you taking the heads off to do the cam swap?

As long as its assembly lube, you'll be good. You could just use oil if this is going into an already running engine. Usually cams come with lubricant to use if its new also.

Yeah I sold my 243 heads and will be swapping to RHS 225 heads. It's the TSP torquer v2, didn't see any lube in the box. The truck has been sitting for almost a yr. but was started a few times in the yr.

The heads came with 7.4" pushrods, will be doing the trunnion upgrade.
