Default 4l80e temp stuck at 284

I have a 4l80e and according to the scanner temp is at -38 and after driving a bit goes to 284 and nothing else can this be the temp sensor? Transmission is stock other than a stall, i disabled the trans over temp to get it out of safe mode

With that kinda temp, I would hope so. The sensor is submerged in trans fluid.

Pretty sure if have to get the entire harness.

How old is the trans? It may be worth refreshing the solenoids as well.
