They were custom made by je and all were clearenced for the reluctor wheel. The thing was rotated multiple times on the stand and no clearence issues were obvious. It basically has to be something like the oil pump because I didn't rotate it myself after the oil pump and windage tray were installed. It is knocking like a spun rod sounds. It got a little quieter with the windage tray clearenced properly of course. I don't see how it spun a rod of course having checked the bearing tolerances and the engine hasn't seen over 1500rpm yet. It could be anything at this point. We will all soon find out.

sorry to hear the bad news, maybe it is for the best though, now that you are re-balancing your crankshaft, that has to make you feel somewhat better

Stroked cranks commonly hit a stock oil pan (did on mine). It's always the thing you forget because you dry test it with the pan off. I was able to dimple it with a piece of pipe and a sledge. Hope that's all it is.

We're praying for you Cody, it WILL run right!
BTW, it may have been covered in an earlier post but did you clearance the rod bolts to the cylinder bore bottoms? I know this is an area that the aluminum LS1/6 blocks need some trimming with a 4" stroke crank, my 5.3L iron block was close but just over the 0.050" minimum. Just a thought....

Well I pulled the motor tonight and broke it down a little. The bottom of the 3 or 4 pistons is hitting the crank counter weights still so Im breaking down the motor totally tomorrow and the crnak will be sent off to the machine once again and turned down some a rebalanced. Who knows when it will be back up and running hopefully by the weekend but who knows. Im am going to be a damn motor swap expert after this ****

Are you pulling the engine/trans as one unit or taking the trans out first? Planning for my pull.
