Thunder,
The point being made on the 4.8's is not that they are a P.O.S. It's that they are a slower engine. My heavily bolted on 4.8 makes about the same RWTQ that a bone stock 5.3 makes. And If you didn't feel a difference between them, then you "butt-o-meter" is out of calibration. The 5.3 takes to the same mods that a 4.8 takes in a better way. The power curve is magnified by the longer stroke of the 5.3. The whole point of this thread is getting out of hand anyway. This is not about a 4.8 vs a 5.3, it's about a 4.8 going 12.6. The truck can do that, but "NO-ONE" has broken into the 12's on this site with a stock internal 4.8. This guy sys he did and then the info is incorrect, so what is it? No email addy to ask either. Yea a 4.8 has gone 13.2, but .6 seconds in a 1/4 mile is A LOT, A WHOLE LOT. And with the mods listed on that truck, he has got the best 4.8 made, or EVERYTHING was just perfect that day. I'm not at all jelous. I will be the first to congradulate the guy, I just want the correct info.

I thought some guy on DragTruk had a 8.1L in a 1/2 ton running a 11.14 (or 11.41) was going to do a 10L...thats the ticket. Anyone know where to get that "duralift cam" and some of them "port brothers heads" he's got? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

If this is true then maybe the LQ4 4.8L really does exist???
