Default 4.8 and 5.3 piston

Hey I need help. I think the engine is not 5.3 it's 4.8 when I bought off the craiglist from the guy it say 5.3 off the 2002 Tahoe. I'd be upset if its 4.8 I don't like 4.8. It look piston show + that mean 4.8? Anyone can help me. If it is 4.8 how I able change to 5.3 or something?

Pics of piston? 4.8 will have flat tops in it. 5.3 will be dished, unless it is the aluminum block 5.3, then it has flat tops like the 4.8.

for what it's worth, if you ever do end up with a 4.8 and you want to make a 5.3 out of it all you need to do is stroke it...same bore, same block etc.

Your going turbo, so unless your going to drop some cash on a nice set of heads. Stock heads will work. You can find a set of used PRC heads for right around 1000. Or get a set of 243's those flow well stock
