Default 4.3 to ls1 in a 97 gmc

aproximately how much of a pain would it be to swap a 4.3 to a v8 out of a 97? how much most importantly? also tranny? im not trying to spend more than what the truck is worth.

Going to run you a good bit.. Gotta have v8 motor mounts plus the ls1 adapter plates, new fuel pump, throttle cable, either get a harness made or combine the new and old one together.. I believe your tranny should work.. Im doing this on a 94, but it had a v8 in it, so made it a little easier.. Putting the truck back together this weekend to send it to get exhaust and tranny put in.. Good luck on whatever you choose..

Yes for that all you would need is the donor motor, fuel injectors, motor mounts, and new chip. Your accessories should bolt right up to the 350.You can use your 4.3 tb with the 5.7 injectors.
