So really quick question for everyone that has done the swap. For the Power sterring pump and alternator can they be used on the 4.8 setup or will I have to get new hoses and crap. Thanks for the help

You will need the front bracket castings from the V8's,the only thing that you can use from the 4.3 is the alternator itself.I'm pretty sure the 4.3 PS hoses will work,I will be putting the last pieces of my 4.3 to 5.3 swap together in the next day or two,I can let you know what works.

Ok I already have the brackets from a v8 engine. The only reason I ask is cause its the same part number for both and I dont feel like wasting money on a 2nd pump. Thanks for the help.

the PS pump can swap - you just gotta pull the pulley to swap it over
and the only question i have for you is: WHY a 4.8?! if it was free, i might understand if it woulda been too hard to trade it for a bigger engine

Thats kinda it I got it 90% complete for less than a hundred bucks. Before I deployed I broke it down. And the insides were in good shape. So my original plan was built 4.8 then it went to turbo 4.8 then to built turbo 383 and so on. So im back to a turbo 4.8 cause even though Im deployed the army doesnt pay to well. As of right now im still going turbo 4.8 route but lq4's on ebay come complete for 1000-2000 bucks. So I might change my mind again.

Well been doing some looking around and thinking. If i go from a 4.3 to 4.8-5.3 I have an idea of what I need. My question is if I go from 4.3 to 6.0 will the harness that comes with that motor work on my truck. The truck is an 07 classic 2wd rcsb. I know that lq4 are normally mated to 4l80e which is cool cause I was planning on swapping to that anyway. But if it came from a 2500 truck will the wiring be any different. I just don't want to have to buy 2 harnesses. Anybody have any idea?

The 4L60E wiring is slightly different than the 4L80E wiring, get the harness with the transmission. Not a big deal to change the 4L60E harness, 4L80E adds a second VSS and the big connector needs to be repinned.
