3000 stall
#2
i have yet to see any evidence of any motor losing significant logevity from a stall converter.
It's a good stall. I actually like part throttle now better than when stock.

I don't think how long your engine will last can be predicted. It could go tomorrow or last 100,000+ more miles.
The only time the stall will cause any more wear on the motor is when you get on it. Those higher rpms than normal will only be for a short time and really shouldn't cause much if any wear. While cruising it'll lock up just like stock and the engine will run just like normal.
I'd actually be more worried about the trans because the trans temps will go up with a higher stall. If you put the stall in go ahead and have a trans cooler put in at the same time.
BTW, welcome to the site.

Just let your engine warm up a little longer than normal if that's what your worried about.
As long as you're easy on the gas starting rpms should not be excessive.

Whitt1,
Do you do any towing with your vehicle? If so, how does the stall effect its ability to tow?

here is my problem with one when towing, when you start to pull a hill with a heavy load the first thing the comuter does is unlock the converter. normaly this is only a couple hundred rpm change but with the yank it is more like 1000rpm change, it is just like a full gear kick down. somewhat anoying if it is locking and unlocking regularly. my fix for that was to just shift it into 3rd when towing in a hilly area and that is probably recomended anyways, now it stays locked but at a little higher rpm. once i got the 6.0 and blower in there the thing would almost never unlock even in over drive. moderate load up a hill against the wind at 90mph in overdrive locked up, just lug right up it at 2000rpm or so
.
