Default 3.42's to 4.10's (finally)

Ive had the gears sitting a box for almost two years now and I think they would work better in the rear end. So I made the appointment for the 23rd. Ill let you guys know how they feel after they are in.

Should be worth afew 10ths I think.

Golden Velvet what have you done to your truck to get it running 13.7 in the 1/4. Just curious because I also have a rcsb 5.3 gettin a cam next week, and my goal is getting it to run 13's in the 1/4. I do also have the 3.42 gears

I dont have a 5.3 I have 4.8 liters of fuel injected fury. My mods are

Fiberglass hood (Weight shaving)
4 inch air intake
E-fan
HPP III
T-stat
Servo
Open exhaust (Plumbing but no muffler)
Auburn gold LSD

And

A big dry shot of Nitrous.

With good traction, track conditions, and a poor 60’ (2.3) I ran a best of 13.7

I have upgraded my nitrous to a two stage wet/dry. But havent played with it yet. I want to be low 13’s with a 4.8 by next summer. Then spray the 4.8 until it dies a nitrous filled death and explore a motor swap. (LS2??)

Without Nitrous = 15.0 @ 92 (G-tec)

I moved into a new place and have no idea where my time slips are (and probably never will again). I only have my race weight for the 14.2 run and it was at 4240lbs including my 300lbs self driving (putting the truck just shy of 4K empty) The 13.7 was a ‘best of’ run and has not been repeated. However it does run very consistent low 15’s N/A and low 14's with nitrous normally. No mater what technique I used 60’ were always 2.3xx. Truck has mostly stock suspension with HUGE 285/60/17 Toyo Proxies and I never had traction issues.
