3rd gear. Its a 1:1 ratio in the tranny.

The dyno in third gear would give higher number because the transmission is in direct drive.

hmm....i dyno'd in at 246HP and 257TQ in 2nd gear with only a UPD and flowmaster. so that means that i would've dyno'd higher in 3rd? i now have UPD, magnaflow catback, and HPP3. i kinda wanna dyno it again now that i can dyno in 3rd gear with out the speed limiter, or wait till i install TOGs, pulley, and e-fans.

I posted this a couple days ago... https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128044

there's the proof, I was about 25rwhp higher in 3rd.

funny cause with a manual it makes no difference. I've dyno'd in 3rd and 4th back to back and it made no difference on my camaro

when I dynoed my burb when it was stock I had 219rwhp in 2nd gear and 213rwhp in third. maybe it was a glitch.

when i got my truck dynoed i was going to lock it in 3rd, the dyno operator said that their dyno had a limit of 150mph and would shut down if i went over that. my truck would top out at more like 160 in 3rd so i had to do it in 2nd.

he told me that on a mustang dyno it doesn't make any diference but on a dynojet it does.
