Is a 220r enough

I think you should go with a 3600 converter and the 220R, then add heads in the future. Go big with the converter, not the cam.
I love the way my truck runs with a 224 cammed 6.0 and 3400 converter(37" tires/4.56's).

this is all just what I have learned with a lifted truck. its just my opinion and a lot of people will disagree
gears and converter get ride of the height of tire, power and torque take care of the weight.
so I have lots of gear and converter to get the rpms up quick and I shift at 6700 and don't drop much under 5500 to stay in the power. seems to work very well for my light to light runs that I like to do, makes it a beast for street racing when I can get it to hook.
lots will disagree with my thinking but my truck would surprise a lot of you for a little 5.3. I am however swapping to a 6L for the torque that my heavy truck really needs
